How I Grew my Email list by 56.8% in 30 days by using Simple Facebook Ads and a Clear Offer

The Challenge

I wanted to see how far I could grow my own email list using a very small daily ad spend, just $5/day, and one straightforward, honest offer. This kind of stripped-back testing seemed like a great way to hone my skill set in ad creation, give some attention to my sadly neglected personal email list, and proves the point that skill is just as important as budget when getting great results.

So, I didn’t want to rely on social media content creation or organic reach. The goal was to test on myself what I help clients do: generate warm, qualified leads directly from Facebook Ads… without needing a big budget or complex funnel.

The Approach

Here’s what I did:

  1. Created a simple lead magnet: a short case study sharing results I’ve achieved through my agency’s marketing campaigns.

  2. Wrote an ad that spoke directly to my ideal audience’s curiosity: “Want to see how I get these kinds of results?”

  3. Set up a Facebook ad campaign targeting relevant interests in the conscious business / wellness / digital entrepreneurship space.

  4. Optimized for conversions, driving traffic to a short landing page where people could get the case study by entering their email.

  5. Kept the budget low: $5/day for 30 days, with no complex testing, just one ad set and a few creatives. (With fees and taxes, that comes out to about $8.65 a day).

The Results

After one month:

  • My previously neglected email list grew by 56.8% (I’m usually so busy working on other people’s, I hadn’t paid attention to my own in quite a while!)

  • 137 new subscribers added themselves to my list, which feels good.

  • $202 total ad spend

  • Cost per subscriber: about $1.27

  • Steady daily flow of new, engaged leads I’ve been nurturing through email ever since.
